Description You've seen it on your computer screen and now it's time for the big screen. TV Screen, that is. Witness the pure digital video magic of non-stop action, hijinks and truly bad acting in one of the few truly great works of art still made in America. As a bonus, you'll also feel a lot better about yourself afterwards.

Sorry Guys... Film School Needed June 2, 2005 C. Drews (Los Angeles) 5 out of 10 found this review helpful
I understand you all are struggling filmmakers. I am in that category myself. Yet, please understand that it is bad etiquette to review yourself or even to get your mother to. How do these reviews help you as filmmakers when they give you five stars and say they loved it??? Well, that ends with me. Here is some constructed criticism to burst your neurotic bubble. My roommate met a crony at an event who handed him the Kwoon DVD. The two of us, mildly intoxicated, sat through a couple of your episodes. Overall, your ideas are not that bad and I would even say your marketing is brilliant. However, production value leaves much to be desired. Hire a DP that knows how to line up a shot and a gaffer who can light a scene. Your audio is almost unbearable (ADR can help with this stuff). I found myself raising and lowing the volume consistently. Check out the Normalize function in any audio application- it will do wonders for your production value. Lastly, there are story elements that just don't make sense. A character gets introduced without any conclusion. You must correct this if you want to reach a broader audience. Yes that acting is bad but look; DV-CAM is cheap- just roll as much as you can so you have more to work with in post. The best takes are always when the actor is fed up with repeating the scene. Remember that, its gold. I am convinced you and your crew can do better than this. Bring it to the next level because you are close to something here.
I had doubts, but they are now gone April 16, 2004 Scott (Emerald Hills, CA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I will say this, I laughed out loud many times. I'm not part of the KWOON folks, but caught a review of the DVD on Cinescape and figured I would give it a shot. Normally I don't go for indie films, but you guys changed my mind. For those of you reading this, take it from me and give the DVD a shot. Its packed with great bonus materials too that are fricken funny. That dude Todd is a crack up and I got a kick out of how much effort all of you put into making your movies. THis is something I wish I could have done. Great DVD Great Show. It now sits on the top of my DVD shelf. Kudos to all of you.
Those Crazy Characters March 10, 2004 Jim Miller (Hayward, CA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
It's been a while since I watched something so funny but at the same makes you want to jump into the TV screen to help them out. The characters try so hard, but there's just so much going on against them. This dvd is truly refreshing--a guaranteed good laugh... just wish there was more of this show out there.
Surprisingly Fun March 8, 2004 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
"Direct to Video" is a term that still has a stigma associated with it. Usually it means bad movies. The same can't be said for KWOON however. This direct to DVD series of shorts are a surprisingly funny, taught and, yes, sometimes well acted series. KWOON also excels in its production design and cinematography. This isn't a college thesis project; instead it's an honest to goodness attempt at making a story worth watching. And they succeed. The DVD features several "extras" including writer/producer/actor/director Todd Roy visiting a Kung Fu tournament in China. His off the wall humor is quick and merciless, but never at anyone's expense but himself. The KWOON DVD is something to watch....Todd Roy is someone to watch for.
Mother of the Director, Writer, Producer, and Star Todd Roy February 19, 2004 Frances McKinnon (Chico, California United States) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is the greatest! Kwoon is filled with the creativity, talent, skill, knowledge and fun that only a true movie buff could have. The acting is great and the Kung Fu is even better. It's an excellent series and shows tremendous promise for a long and exciting career in the movie industry. I have recommended Kwoon to all my friends and neighbors. Besides, he's my son. How could he be any thing but the greatest?
