Product Description
Twelve-year-old Seh is a snake-style master and a keeper of secrets. Close-lipped and ever-watchful, he has used his highly attuned senses to collect information about his brothers, his temple, and even Grandmaster. Now, with the temple and Grandmaster gone, Seh sheds his orange robe like an old skin, joins a bandit gang, and meets a mysterious woman whose name means Cobra—all the while trying to stay one step ahead of vengeful Ying!

5 out of 5 stars snake   February 22, 2008

Jeff Stone's books are my favorite series. I like all of them equally. I feel all can be rated 5 stars and I am eagerly awaiting the publication of Eagle. I am a younger reader and I think most young boys will enjoy Snake as well as the rest of the books in the series.

5 out of 5 stars A Must Read   March 10, 2007

The five ancestors series is an incredibly amazing book! I am a personal lover of hard fantasy but Jeff Stone has certainly piqued my interest. I suggest this as a great gift for any avid reader, or just a book for yourself.
Snake is certainly the best book in the series that I have read, and the first two are worth reading just to get to this book! The first five are of course great reads themselves, but Snake is on my favorite reads list. I can't wait to read Crane, the next in the series.
The series takes place in ancient China, after the destruction of Canghzan temple. The only survivors are 5 warrior monks, Fu, Malao, Seh, Hok, and Long, each a master of Tiger, Monkey, Snake, Crane, or Dragon kung-fu respectively.
This is great for any action-lover, fiction reader, or even a fantasty-lover. A must-read for all ages!

From what I can gather, Jeff Stone is quite an author. He supposedly hasn't written any other novels alike this series before, Tiger being his first. I was rather impressed by this, because although I found bit and pieces of his writing slightly cheesy, like books I've read when I was relatively younger, but at the same time strangely good. This is probably what provoked me to read on and become so anxious to read the next book. I have actually just recently finished Snake, and am frustrated that Crane is not available yet. Like the other reviews for this book, I just 'can't wait' for it to come out in stores.

In the first book, Tiger, the main plot of the story is introduced. Most of the reviews have depicted this perfectly. Yes, five young Cangzhen monks escaped the temple's massacre with their Grandmaster's assistance. The Grandmaster's final order to them: Unravel their pasts they have been hidden from for so long. And from there, the journey begins. Fu, Malao, Hok, and Seh all stay back after the intrusion with their own objectives. The only one among them they claim to have not made contant with is Long. Along the way, through books Monkey and Snake, the monks seperate and intertwine with each others' paths, encounter both peculiar and secretive new characters, all the while constructing their own routes to their past, leading on to their fate.

5 out of 5 stars Best Book Ever   October 19, 2006

The Five Ancestors: Snake (Book 3)

The Five ancestors is the BEST book I have ever read in my entire life. Written by Jeff Stone, The Five Ancestors is about 5 young brother warriors taught in different styles of Kung-Fu: Monkey(Malao), Snake(Seh), Tiger(Fu), Crane(Hok), and Dragon(Long). They all lived in a temple and learned new techniques and moves daily. There was a 6th brother named Ying, but he left the temple angrily because of a fight with the grandmaster. The grandmaster is the master of the temple, and he takes care of the young boys. Years after Yings departure, he returns with an army of soldiers to destroy the temple.
The temple warriors are severely outnumbered, and they fight to the death. Grandmaster saves the boys by putting them into a large crate until the battle is over and then the boys flee. Some say they are the "chosen ones" because they were the only ones to survive the battle. The boys split up and flee in different paths and were supposed to find there true destiny.
The Five Ancestors: Snake, combines an EXCELLENT story, with battles that are so realistic that they leave the reader waiting for more. The action in The Five Ancestors keeps you interested without making you go "yeah right!"
In conclusion, The Five Ancestors: Snake is The Best book in the world. The combined story with action and suspense is a true masterpiece. I would give this book a 15 out of 10 because of how good it is. The entire series is a great and stunning one to leave you waiting for the next book.

This book is better than the last two because of all the great, awesome action pacts. I was very into the book. In fact, I was so into the book. I finished the book in a couple of days. However, it left so many unknowns after reading Snake, and i cannot wait for the Crane to come out.
